Mr. David Hodgkinson
who is a Fellow Member of the IET (UK) met up with
the Chairman of IET Brunei Network Hj Abdul Rahman
Bin Hj Modin and IPRA (International Professional
Registration Advisor) of IET Brunei Network Mr. Lim
Sam Lee on 13th March 2008 in Brunei Darussalam, to
discuss and promote the requirements of the
professional development for the younger and
experienced engineers that will eventually lead them
to Chartered Engineer Status. There is the need to
make know to the public of the facilities and
services that IET can offer, and where the IET
Brunei Network committee is actively promoting such
as coaching, mentoring and technical specialized
services.
Mr. David Hodgkinson chairs the IET's Professional
Development Operation Committee which is responsible
for the accreditation of the Initial Professional
Development schemes offered by each organization to
the younger graduate engineers. He is also a member
of the IET's Programmes Group and the Registration
And Standards Committee.
On behalf of the ECUK (Engineering Council-UK), four
of the institutions namely The IET (Institution of
Engineering and Technology), IMechE (Institution of
Mechanical Engineers), IChemE (Institution of
Chemical Engineers) and InstMC (Institute of
Measurement and Control) conducted the accreditation
review and assessment of the FEPS (Facilities
Engineering Professional Scheme) for Brunei Shell
for the development of the younger and experienced
engineers.
The IET (UK) has assessed and accredited the Brunei
Shell FEPS (Field Engineering & Professional Scheme)
for the Electrical discipline and a certificate is
presented.
