SYNOPSIS
This technology talk will be set
against the back drop of current
and upcoming technologies that
are coming together to catapult
our world into revolutionary and
transformational advancements
that were not possible in the
past. Foundational concepts such
as Information Generation Three,
Silent Commerce, Green Wave and
Dynamic – Real time information
are among topics that will get
the presentation off the ground.
Next, core technologies such as
RFID, GPS, Intelligent Agents
and Sensor Networks will be
discussed in detail. Thereafter,
upcoming and futuristic
complementary key technological
concepts namely cloud computing,
virtualization and nano-technology
will be introduced. Finally, the
cumulative revolutionary and
transformation effects and
changes that these technologies
are bringing and will bring to
government, businesses and our
everyday lives will be showcased
so that we could prepare and
brace ourselves for these
inevitable changes that are
already at our shores. |

About The Speaker |
|
Dr. Anand has been associated
with the Oil & Gas sector since
the year 2000 beginning with a
career in Shell within a
business process and technology
function. Dr. Anand then spent a
two year stint with NASA in the
US serving as a managing
consultant in the area of
operational technologies (RFID,
GPS, sensors, etc) and overall
supply chain strategy. He is
presently Vice President of
Global Services & Technology in
Aker Solutions, a leading
multinational Norwegian Oil &
Gas corporation. Dr. Anand also
serves as a consultant/advisor
to organizations within the area
of technology, global supply
chain management and strategy.
Dr. Anand holds a doctoral
degree in Supply Chain
Management & Strategy from the
Massachusetts Institute of
Technology in Boston, US. |
