Michael Kwok, Sales & Training Manager,
Asia Pacific, Publishing & Inspec based
in Hong Kong visited Brunei Darussalam
on 13 August 2009 to give presentations
about IET Publications and INSPEC
Database. IET Brunei Darussalam Network
played host to his visit and
presentations were given to
universities, Universiti Brunei
Darussalam (UBD) and Institut Teknologi
Brunei (ITB). Michael also had a lunch
meeting with some members of the IET
Brunei Darussalam Network Committee.
The INSPEC database contains over 10
million bibliographic abstracts and
indexing to journal articles, conference
proceedings, technical reports and other
literature in the fields of science and
technology. Michael presented on the
features and the advanced search
capabilities of the INSPEC database.
The presentation at ITB was attended by
the Chief Librarian, Assistance Chief
Librarian, Dean of Engineering, Dean of
Business Management & IT and other
academia. The presentation at UBD was
attended by its Chief Librarian and
Acquisition staff.
Michael shall be returning to Brunei
Darussalm in the future to follow up on
the interests expressed during his
presentations. |
