Students and instructors of Maktab Teknik Sultan Saiful Rijal (MTSSR), Maktab Kejuteraan Jefri Bolkiah (MKJB) and Intitut Teknologi Brunei gathered at MTSSR to attend presentations by second year UBD students, Lim Ren Foo and Hj Isyrah Fahmi Hj Osman, organised by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) Brunei Darussalam.
Foo gave an introductory presentation on Robotics and shared his experiences in the field. He has participated in several Robotics competitions, both locally and internationally, Robotech and Robocon. On average, he spends about two hours a day on building robots but gives up 18 hours for his passion during his holidays.
Isyrah presented his 14 weeks worth of hard work, a Rubik's cube solving robot, which prized him as the winner of this year's local “Present Around The World” competition. This secured him an all-expense trip to Pune, India to represent Brunei at the Asia-Pacific level.
This event is one of many activities organised by IET Brunei to provide avenues for students to share knowledge and aspirations with one another, and to grow into young professionals. |
